Okay, I'm going to go against the grain and say I don't like it. Grouping all subs together and saying they have weaker hearts just because they're subs is silly and incorrect in my opinion. Generalizations suck.
My heart is not weak, thank you very much.
As a switch and having experienced it from both sides I can say that this is why aftercare is a must every time.

Also true for me. I can take all kinds of beating and abuse but once it's over my mind collapses and if dat aftercare is weak, I'm out for a week.
