This cat may be a female in heat. Female cats in heat will attempt to seduce anything... shoes, socks, feet, hands, chair legs, rugs, the corners of walls, the wall itself. Literally anything at head height is nuzzled and purred at, between bouts of loud yowling for mates. Source: Had an unfixed female cat.
