A lot of photo models shaved then. I believe there were a few rules about what constitutes porn and art....titillation. I think no pubes help it fall on the art side of the fence. Most shots if that time, the women looked like a Barbie. Smooth and no crack showing. There's something about it in the Bettie Page book.
