This really is what it looks like when you press in on the sides of your eyes, and it all goes black and then yeah, this happens.

This is proof that alias exist.
The noise in the center... it looks like it isn't a product of the multi-dimensional something but rather a side effect of the low-resolution render, as the rectangular pattern of pixels the image was rendered to and the alignment of the circles that are smaller than one pixel interact in a certain way. If you would * move the sampling position for each pixel on a random spot within the area of that pixel * [use other kinds of sampling](http://bost.ocks.org/mike/algorithms/) (I love this article, I think it was on /r/programming a while back) * use a higher resolution * use some kind of antialaising * somehow build this structure and look at it with a human eye this would go away. But I guess it's kinda cool.
